The official side event "Turning Evident into Practice: Learning from What Works to Accelerate Progress" will take place between 1:15 - 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, 22 September at Conference Room 6 in the North Lawn Building in the UN headquarters in New York.
Seeking to answer the question "what happens next?", this side event will focus on the pragmatic steps that can be taken in the next five years to meet the MDGs. Presenting the MDG Acceleration Framework (MAF) developed by UNDP, and drawing on evidence of what works from the past decade, this event will illustrate work now being piloted in countries to systematically identify and address bottlenecks in the way of achieving results.
UNDP Administrator Helen Clark will host the event. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Presidents of Colombia, Lao PDR and Liberia will also participate.
